my name is Rachel con I teach music at Morrow Elementary uses my eleventh year to teach music and my fourth year here in my room I love that I get to see the kids throw up when they come to music they are here for six years they stay at her school the whole time so I seen them change and learn all kinds of different things as they go from kindergarten to 5th grade and I love that when they come back to visit or see them in the store and they tell me the things that they're doing now and secondary it's just really enjoyable to make a big difference with these kids life when I think about my teachers that I had growing up I do remember some of the things that I learned from them for sure but Ma play what I remember is how they made me feel my 10th grade chemistry teacher I was terrible at chemistry I didn't like it wasn't good at it but she kind of took me under her wing and really supported me and we still keep in contact to this day and I just remember how she made me feel and how she really did take an interest in me as a person and I think that's what our kids need some of our kids come from really supportive some come from homes where they don't have support and they really need us to be champions for them and believe in them I think that that's the most important thing we can do is to say you were valued and I love having you and music let me teach you about the joy music and you are important in my classroom one of my favorite is by Cheryl lavender and it says the fact that children can make beautiful music is less significant than the fact that music can make beautiful children and I know not all of my students are going to go on to do kindermusik they're not all going to be an inquiry I know a lot will but my goal as a music teacher is really too just instill that love of the Arts & Joy music in their lives I hope that 30 years down the road they feel comfortable keeping maybe at a game to clap singing Happy Birthday song singing lullabies to their own kids I really want them to feel comfortable and musically and just to have that love of the Arts and Music just makes our lives so much better it makes them more rich Shuffle and it can create so many good things in their lives I just want to share that with him my name is Rachel Hahn and I'm in Owasso Ram
